How to make a Negroni Sbagliato... Boco Style
WHY NEGRONI SBAGLIATO?
You may have heard trending audio on social media this week of House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy describing their drink of choice (and our parody…), which at first seemed to be a classic Negroni... but low and behold turned out to be its lesser-known cousin, Negroni Sbagliato.
WHAT IS A NEGRONI SBAGLIATO?
Negroni Sbagliato, or ‘mistaken Negroni,’ is simply a Negroni but made with Prosecco replacing the gin and carbonated water. A little sweet and a little bitter, the sparkling wine gives Sbagliato gets an effervescent lift from the bubbles in the wine and creates a less alcoholically potent cocktail.
HOW TO MAKE IT BOCO STYLE
Now of course we champion wine made in England using the Charmat method, so our very own Boco by House Coren has helped give a British twist to the now famous Italian cocktail. Here's how to make yours at home:
INGREDIENTS
- 25ml Campari
- 25ml sweet vermouth
- Boco to top up
- Ice
- Orange slice to garnish
METHOD
- Grab a highball glass then pour in the Campari and Vermouth
- Gently add in your ice cubes then pour Boco over
- Garnish with a slice of orange
HOUSE COREN TIP
Pouring down a long spoon placed in the glass will stop the bubbles coming up and over the glass.
